Hydroseeding is a great alternative to get your lawn growing.
Hydroseeding is a planting process where a variety of seeds are mixed together with fertilizer, water, wood mulch, and tackifier (natural glue) in a large tank and sprayed out through a hose. This slurry is distributed uniformly over the prepared area and the wood fibers and natural glue attach themselves to the surface creating a network that retains moisture and protects the seed from wind, rain and pests. All ingredients are non-toxic and environmentally friendly.
Hydroseeding is considerably less expensive than using sod (roughly 1/3rd the cost), and it is also fast and efficient. Typically under standard conditions you will see results within three weeks.
For residential and commercial applications, hydroseeding is ideal for golf courses, new lawns, roadside reclamation, sport fields, and other large scale needs.
